Linda's hand painted silk designs are one-of-a-kind or limited edition series. French steam set dyes are her preference on a canvas of luxurious silks. She uses both the gutta serti and wax resist methods of silk painting with her water color style. The final step in this labor intensive process is steaming the silk. This intensifies the brilliance of the silk and fixes the dyes permanently. The fluid surface of the silk, the intermingling of the dye colors gives the painting life and movement. The ultimate combination of artist and artistic spirit.

The grounds of the Fullerton Arboretum are an endless treasure chest of beauty and inspiration. The following hand painted floral works on silk were composed from my personal photographs taken there through the years. Silk painting is the perfect medium to capture the vibrant colors and the romantic and sentimental feeling of flowers. These paintings are a few of my continuing "Silken Garden Arboretum Series".
